The correct technical term is Pyrrhocorax. Pirrocórax is a purported Castilianization of that term. It means colorful crow, crow with colors or raven colors. In Ornitology is the name of a genus of birds that belongs to the family Corvidae (Ravens) and in it are classified a class of crows known as chovas. They have orange beaks.
