It is the name of a genus of plants in the family Solanaceae, to which belongs among other plants the uchuva.

PHYSALIS solanaceous plant, typical of tropical regions around the planet. It has a small, spherical fruit, orange or reddish, sometimes wrapped in small leaves. It is a source of vitamin C and diuretic. It is part of a multitude of natural remedies, especially those indicated to strengthen the immune system. It is also associated with the improvement of respiratory and scarring problems. It is used in treatments to lose weight because it is a low-calorie fruit.
