Meaning of percuetano

furoya

percuetano
  13

Is it some cultism invented for what is done in a group? By the Latin 'per-' ('by') with 'coetus, us' ('joint, union') and the suffix '-ano' ('ascription'); I say 128513; . More than a variant of pergüétano (which is already a variant of perhuétano from peruétano) it seems to me an interpretation confusing by hearsay the /g/ with the /c/. Not to mention that a tilde is missing.

NORMAN ARBONA DAHER

Coincidentally today I remembered this word. The use we gave it in the CENTRAL zone of Chile is not "perguetano" because the sound of the vowel "u" is lost. I am talking about its use about 50 years ago ha . I listened to my parents who came from Norte Chico, a probable place of origin. Its use did not have a clear offensive or contemptuous bias, but it was used to refer to an ordinary man. I don't remember it being used for the female gender. I have the impression that it was in common use. ""
