It must be a neologism related to stuffed animals, or perhaps to hair, and then it is a variant of fur that is interpreted by its phase of "losing hair or feathers, being stripped or without goods" or by that of "renewing the fur, recovering from a bad situation".

It is a simile to when you cut off all the hair of an animal or person. It is applied when everything available is lost in a short space of time, mainly objects or personal belongings such as money or housing, leaving the person who loses it "naked".
