It is the adjective that applies to the glands of the parathyroid hormone. They are four glands located in the anterior neck of people, located behind the thyroid gland and that secrete a hormone that regulates the levels of calcium, phosphorus and vitamin D in your body into the blood. The levels of parathyroid hormone in the body it can be measured by a blood test. Hormones are substances natural or synthetic consisting of amino acids or steroids that influence the functioning of the different cells or organs of the human body. The word comes from the Greek: for: next and thyreoeides: you have a shield.
