Diminutive of paper. Very thin paper. In Colombia is synonymous with confetti or confetti. In Botany is one of the common names of the plant Paronychia argentea from the Cayophillaceae family. It is also called Bloodroot. Papelillo is another name of the buganvil, flower paper, bougainvillea, entitles or Trinitarian. Its scientific name is Bougainvillea glabra and belongs to the family Nyctaginaceae. There is also a tree called papelillo in Mexico, which in Colombia we call Indian naked or mulatto. It receives other names such as incense, copal, white, karate or archipin. Its scientific name is Bursera simaruba and belongs to the family Burseraceae. Paper for rolling cigarettes. In Colombia, papelillo, also is a native variety of avocado.
