It is one of the common names of an edible seed plant in Mexico. It is also known as achera, achurú, burdock, cañacoro, maraca, achira, achuy, capacho, biri, cucuyús, juquián, chisgua, risgua. Its scientific name is Canna indica and it belongs to the Cannaceae family. The name of a flour that is extracted from the same seeds. Name of Mexican city in the State of Veracruz.
