It's a way of calling butterflies and moths. It is also a way of calling a wall or wall made of stone and of low height. Diminutive and derogatory of bird. In some parts of Spain it is also called mosquera, escalabradura, portillo or pajareta to a small window or window through which hay or straw is entered to the stable or carts.
