In Botany is the name of a genus of plants belonging to the family Oxalidaceae (also called Averrhoaceae). It means that they contain oxalates, its taste is acid, pungent, sour or sharp. They are known as sorrel, Cruets, nacederas, Hallelujah or geese. If swallowed in large quantities is toxic. It has many medicinal uses. .
