Omphalitis: medical term of Greek origin, from omphalou omphalos: navel, pupo, a surface, outstanding Center of the shield and the suffix - itis: inflammation. It is the infection of the navel whose symptoms are redness, swelling, oozing, and unpleasant odor. Both in children and in adults is often solved with an ointment and daily cleaning of the area drying moisture well, but a doctor should see you.
