1º_ Artistic style appeared in the eighteenth century revaluing the Greco-Roman classicism. His forte was in architecture and sculpture, where there were examples to study, also in painting and literature by emulation and to a lesser extent in music. 2º_ For its etymology, since neo- is "new" and classical is interpreted as "orthodox", the term is applied in other areas where classical methods or thoughts are revalued or updated.
