The appropriate term is Necator, without tilde. It is the name of a genus of parasitic worms ( helminths), among which uncinaria stands out. It's typical of the American Necator. It is necuent in the small intestine of humans and some pets (dogs, cats), and causes necatoriasis or tropical anemia.
