It comes from the necro prefix that is dead, and fano who is dining. Therefore the expression means to be alive that feeds on dead beings. A synonym might be scavenger.

The Spanish word Yes used is ghoul, accent, Greek etymology ( necros: dead and phagomai: eating ) so it would mean " which eats dead animals ". In the event that any necrofano would come from the Greek verb phainomai: Express, show, which would mean " which manifests as dead ".Would it be as spirit?. It may be.
