It is a term used in Biology and the correct form is murein, with tilde in the í. It is the name of a copolymer of sugars and amino acids that constitutes the basic structure of the wall of prokaryotes and prolophytes. It is also called peptidoglucano or peptideglycan . It can only be degraded by lysozine or muramidesa, which is found in saliva and tears.
