In Colombia it is a surname of Spanish origin. Last name of Colombian footballer José Moya, who plays for Deportes Tolima. In Spain there are several locations called Moya. One remains in Gran Canaria, Province of Las Palmas and the other in the Province of Cuenca. In Peru there is a locality called Moya and a District, belong to the Department of Huancavelica. There is also Moyá. It is also the name of a genus of plants, in the family Celastraceae and endemic to Bolivia. In Colombia we also call it a mule cave, deep well in a river, swirl.
