Moloc or Moloch was the name of the fire god among the Canaanitas. In Herpetology, it is one of the common names of a spiny reptile. It is also called moloch, spiny devil, cornered, spiny lizard or Australian spiny devil. Its scientific name is Moloch horridus, the only species that gives its name also to the genus and belongs to the family Agamidae. It lives in the desert and is hydrated by taking the slightest moisture through the skin.
