Micro Technology = Microtecologiala Microtechnology is technology that allows us to build things on the micron scale. A micron is one-millionth of a meter, or, to give a clearer idea, thousandth of a millimeter. We all know how long is a meter: roughly the distance between our nose and our fingertips when we extend entirely an arm to one side of the body. Yes we take one thousandth part of this length, we have one millimeter. A millimeter is very small, but we can still see it. Now imagine that we take one end of this mm, support it in our nose and stretch it until you reach the end of the fingers of the hand that is located in the arm that we have extended. Now again divide in thousand parts. We have one-thousandth of one thousandth part of a meter, a length called micron. This is the scale that works when devices such as memory, logic and computing circuits are built.The devices memory and logic for sale in 1985 had structures with components of approximately one micron in width. For 1995, time of occurrence of the Pentium, roughly one-third of micron, 350 nanometer sizes had been achieved. He is already working on structures of 100 nanometres, i.e. one-tenth of what it had achieved in 1985.
