In Greek mythology it was the name of one of the Titanoids who personified prudence, wisdom, dexterity, skill, cunning. She was Zeus' first mistress and Athena's mother. Nymph (Ocean), daughter of Ocean and Tethys. In Greek the word translates trick, advice.
