meteorology is incorrectly written, and should be written as "weather" being its meaning: From the Greek: meteors meteorou: what is to high or high in the air, what is at the top, space or celestial phenomena and logos: knowledge, study, rationality: study that is high in the atmosphere. It is the science that studies atmospheric phenomena and the laws by which they are governed. Given the complexity of these phenomena that affected by many factors, being many of them changing and unpredictable, forecasters always speak in terms of probability.
