metatarsus . ( Of meta - and the Gr. ?, Tarsus). 1. m. Anat. A set of long bones as part of subsequent extremities of the Batrachians, reptiles and mammals, and that on the one hand are articulated with the Tarsus and the other with the phalanges of the toes. The man is made up of five bones, and is the skeleton of the sole of the foot.
