MEDIATION In Information and Communication Sciences: There are two linked and binding concepts mediatization and MEDIATION (or MEDIALIZATION) We could say that the sense is mediated and mediatized. Mediation refers to the context of the content of a message. Mediatization refers to the context of the technological device and today to the transmediality of digital communication. The same message travels through different channels and media. MEDIATION, according to experts in Information and Communication Sciences, is the process of representation/construction of social sense. MEDIATIZATION, according to themselves, is the profound transformation of the mechanisms, materialities and devices of representation/construction of the social sense.
