MANRIQUEA relative or belonging to Jorge Manrique (1440-1479), poet of the pre-Renaissance and, like Cervantes, man of arms and Castilian letters, member of the House of Manrique de Lara, one of the oldest families of the Castilian nobility. His poem Coplas a la muerte de su padre is a classic of Spanish literature.
