Meaning of lilit

According to Talmudic tradition, Lilit or Lilith, was the name of the first spouse of Adam, which supposedly was Eva in the Christian faith. Lilith had been created from clay as Adam. Rejecting the subordination to Adam, left Eden and refused to have offspring with Adam. Became a demon and stealing or killing children.
