Ismicidad: Abstract quality of the isthmic or concerning an isthmus, union of a peninsula with the landmass area. While unrecognized by the SAR, this technical term is used in the geographical sciences. So geographers would speak of the istmicidad of the Pyrenees to indicate that this mountain range joins the Iberian peninsula with the European continent and being a young mountain it seems likely that the peninsula in distant times was separated from Europe.
