It is also called kofta, kafta, kufta or kufteh. It is a type of preparation of Turkish origin and consists of minced and marinated meat. It is popular in the Middle East. In some cases it is similar to meatballs and in others they present as cookies or arepuelas (flattened meatball). It is also found in the cuisine of India and the Balkans.
