It is a Latin dance style. originally from the United States, initiated by African-American peoples. It became popular in the 1930s. African-American jazz. It is also one of the names given to a Colombian indigenous people, scattered throughout the Orinoquía. They are also called hiwi, guahibo, guaibo, guaigua, guayba, wahibo, guajiro, sikuanis.
