Javier is a male name of Navarrese origin that means '' House new '' or '' Castle ''. Its shape female, much less common, is Javiera. Commonly its diminutive is Javi, Javito, Javierito, Javierico, Javivi etc. This name was popularized by San Francisco Javier, Latinized to Franciscus Xaverius in the writings of the era, which Javier was really the place where he was born in Navarre. Javier (Xabier in Basque ) It is a villa and Spanish municipality of the region of Navarre, situated in the merindad de Sangüesa, in the region of Sangüesa. Its population in 2013 was 115 inhabitants ( INE ).It is mainly famous for being the town that gave birth to San Francisco Javier, in the homonymous Castle. It comes from the Basque " etxeberri " that means " new home ".
