iguana . ( Of the West Indian Arawak ). 1. f. generic name of a few reptiles like lizards, but simply notched at the tip and no protractile tongue, and teeth applied to the inner surface of the jaws. They are generally fitted with large Chin and a spiny Crest along the back. Some of the species reaches up to a meter in length. It is indigenous to South America, and their meat and eggs are edible. 2. f. Hond. Extra and occasional work.
