It is one of the common names of a class of wading birds. They belong to the family Rallidae and the genus Fulica. They are also usually called water cocks, coots, taguas, chocas or gallaretas. Another way to call them is tinguas or calamones. In Bolivia it is also a typical musical áire and a dance class.

Typical dance of the plateau, with variants according to the region. It's also called his music. The origin of the name seems to be the Quechua huayñunakunay ( "dance of the hand" ) .
