It is the name given a Greek Cavalry Commander in the antiquity. Name given to craters of the Moon and Mars. In ancient times in Greece Hipparchus was a common name: A geographer and mathematician and various tyrants. Why they differ with the complement of its origin and therefore exist in addition to the geographer who was (also known as Hipparchus of Rhodes) Hipparchus of Nicaea, Hipparchus of Athens and Hipparchus of Euboea. Hipparchus is also the name of a space program the Agency Space European (ESA).
