Festa hilaria: celebrations of joy in spring that celebrated in classical Rome. Hilaro verb - as - are: rejoice, rejoice. They were held on 25 March in the spring equinox after the feast of the blood in which some priests and worshippers of Cybele were scourged or autocastraban next to her sanctuary in the Vatican Hill. Pagan holidays were transformed, as all, Christianity, although they were the forerunner of our carnivals.
