According to the Muisca tradition, it is the name of the emerald that Bochica gave to Suamox, which was transformed into Lake Tota. Name of some tourist cabins in Paipa, Boyacá.

According to the history Guacata is the Emerald that Bichica gift to the Dios Suamox, which was thrown to the hollow of the lagoon that today is known as Lake of Tota, to the fall it emerald is transformed in water, then by them effects natural is form them clouds and when falls the rain on the land is form them emeralds that today are discovered by them guaqueros , from there its name Guacata or Guaca as is known today.
