graciola . ( Of gladiolus , inflation. by Grace ). 1. f. Herb perennial of the family of the Escrofulariáceas, with three tall roundwood and beardless decimetres stems. Leaves are sitting, opposite, lanceolate, and with teeth on the margin, white and yellowish axillary, stalked, funnel-shaped flowers, and capsular fruit with seeds small and wrinkled. Lives in marshy terrain, noxious smell, bitter taste, is Emetic, cathartic, and formerly regarded as a great antidote for the tercianas.
