Goetia is the ancient name of black magic, which we can also call sorcery. Goetia is a practice in which one works consciously and deliberately with dark, evil energies and in its most committed case, it is Satanism itself. It is a reversal with respect to theurgy, since this is an upward work and the goecia is downward.
