Meaning of gobierno en minoria

Manuel Penichet Pinet

gobierno en minoria
  12

The minority Government is the situation in which the Government does not have props enough in the Chamber of deputies or senators to achieve an absolute majority. Usually, a minority Government tends to be more unstable than one majority.

Felipe Lorenzo del Río

minority Government is incorrectly written and it should be written as "minority Government" being its meaning: Political situation of a nation or State national, supra-national or sub-national, in which the Government does not have sufficient support to their role; in the Western democracies these props normally come from parliamentarians of the political party that has won the elections or the parties to govern. If these MPs fail to be half plus one of the total of the Parliament, the Government is at the mercy of the opposition, in a minority, in a situation of weakness. A situation is thus necessarily unstable. Is this the Spanish situation after December 20?
