Galega . ( Of the Gr. ?, milk, and?,?, goat). 1. f. plant of the family of the Papilionáceas, with eight to twelve decimetres of tall stems, ramosos and arable, leaves composed of 11-17 leaflets entire, lanceolate, thick edge, flowers are white, bluish or reddish, in axillary panicles pending a long petiole, and fruit in pod striated with many seeds. It has been used in medicine and is now cultivated in gardens.
