Meaning of fumívoro

furoya

fumívoro
  7

It is said of the furnace or any method of complete combustion that does not produce smoke. The idea for inventing this word (already accepted, it is not a neologism) is that it "swallows the smoke", because it does not expel it to the outside. It is an untechnical interpretation using the Latin words fumus, i ("smoke") vorare ("to eat, to devour"). See -voro .
