Fumaria . ( Of the lat. )( fumaria ). 1. f. herb of the family of the Papaveráceas, with stem length, hollow, shrub and four to six decimetres of long, yellowish-green leaves, alternate, split into segments oblong and pointed, small flowers in spikes of purple color and nearly black at the apex, and spheroidal in little tight clusters fruits. The juice of this plant, which is bitter, is used in medicine.
