It is a plant of the Moors and is characterized by being covered with lanugo or pubescence in stems, leaves and flowers. Their ecological function is very important because it absorbs moisture and retain pure water. They are plants of the Asteraceae family and the Espeletia genus. Exist only in Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela ( in that order by largest number ) There is a scientific name Espeletia frailejón norenae, called guacharaco or arborescent frailejón.
