Plural of 'phobia' deriving from 'phobus', from the ancient Greek 'Phóbos', fear, son of Ares and Aphrodite who in classical mythology was the personification of fear or dread. Phobia is also used as a suffix by being added to the root of a word to give it a certain meaning.
