In my town (in Colombia) department of Atlántico is called "Fajina" to the meeting or group of people who plan a day of community work.

Fascine has several meanings. When comes from slaughter is a task, an obligation to do something; common in the army, where there are hints or fascine calls to go to eat, to return to barracks or just make another scheduled task. When it comes from the latin fasces is a beam or group of branches, firewood, ears of corn. . . See fascism.

Fascine: f. in some regions of Colombia, this word was used by the grandmothers as a synonym for impertinence. For example, when one of your children or grandchildren are bothered by something, the grandmother scolded him: " leave the fascine ".
