( Of the lat. ) exequatur ('run', 3rd pers. sing. of the pres. subj. of exsequi ). 1. m. authorization granted by the head of a State for which foreign agents in his territory to exercise the functions of their positions. 2. m. voice with which designated the pass that gave the civil authority of a State to the bullae and papal rescriptos to its observance.
