It is a word of Occitan origin ( old French ) that is derived from protest. Escracher is a person who takes part in a protest. Escrache is a type of demonstration which consists of going to protest directly to the home or office ( office ) the official who wants to denounce something affecting the community. It is widely used in the Southern Cone of South America ( Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay, ) and in Venezuela and Spain.
