Meaning of escotomafobia

furoya

escotomafobia
  8

It is the fear of going blind, without sight. You could almost say that it is a very specific phobia, since a scotoma is a dark spot on the retina that limits the visual field and if it is too large it prevents vision; But in this case it's used as blindness, in general. See scotophobia, suffix -phobia.
