Meaning of escatomancia

Danilo Enrique Noreña Benítez

escatomancia
  43

It is the type of purported divination that is done by analyzing fecal matter (in some cases from animals). It is also known as co-production.

furoya

1º_ In principle it is a mode of divination through the analysis of the fecal matter of an animal, or of a person. It consists of the Greek voices 963; 954; 945; 964; 959; 962; ( skatós "of the feces") and 956; 945; 957; 964; 949; 953; 945; ( kept "divination") . See co-promise. 2º_ For these issues of homonymy, it turns out that 'eschatony' is also a divination through the messages from beyond, sent by the dead who passed to the other side, but also by the analysis of the viscera of their corpses, and which includes those of the sacrificed animals. In this case the etymology comes from 949; 963; 967; 945; 964; 959; 962; ( eschates "[destination] last, final" ) 956; 945; 957; 964; 949; 953; 945; ( kept "divination") . See necromancy, necromancy aruspicina.

John Rene Plaut
