Term from the Greek " eristike " ( 41 discussion aficionado; and he was soon associated with the method used in the discussion by those who, regardless of the truth or falsity of the thesis they maintained, are proposed as single goal victory in the discussion, using subtle argumentation and rhetoric to reach items.Plato uses the term to refer to it, critically, the method of the Sophists, and opposed it to the dialectic, the true art of research and dialogue that seeks knowledge of the truth.
