Elopo is a Greek prefix ( ellops ) which means snake, a form of tape. Elopomorfos fish are sound like snakes or Ribbon dorma, belt. They are generally marine: eels, moray eels, Conger eels. Some fish species but they do not resemble snakes in adult State, may belong to this so heterogeneous superorder. The reason is that in larval States have shape of snake or tape. This occurs with the tarpon among others.
