It means beast that roams the beach. The term assigned by Dr. Ascanio Rincón, is formed with the Greek words eion (coast), ale (roam, move ) and therium ( beast ). It was the name of a prehistoric giant sloth, which existed in the Miocene, in Colombia and Venezuela.
