Name of a very ancient people of Greece, who inhabited the mountainous areas of Greece. Its territory was called Dolopia and was located north of Aetolia, near Mount Pinn. Dolope was also the name of several characters from that time in Ancient Greece: one was the son of the god Hermes, another was the son of Lampo's son and leomedonte's grandson, and another who was the father of Iphimacus. Another character named Dolope was killed by Hector.
