Musical genre derived from others such as jazz, R B and gospel that achieved its maximum popularity between the years 1956 and 1965 approximately and that is highlighted for incorporating musical elements such as vocal harmony, sometimes a cappella, and a progression of four chords, sometimes two, which is complemented by the melody they accompany.
